The Land of the Dead is home to a number of horrifying creatures that are new to Warhammer Online. Many of these monsters can be encountered throughout the Necropolis of Zandri, providing new challenges for all players. From the rank and file of Amenemhetum's skeleton legions, to the intimidating Eternal Sentinels that patrol the deserts that surround Zandri, as well as the Carrion that darken the skies above, these myriad creatures provide a flavor that is unique to this innovative and exciting zone.
A number of new Public Quests can be found throughout both the Necropolis of Zandri and the Tomb of the Vulture Lord. Each one poses challenges and mechanics heretofore unseen, and they are all inured with the distinctive flavor of the Land of the Dead. From a quarry where massive and ancient bones are unearthed by skeletal workers to the personal treasure trove of the Vulture Lord, players who venture into Nehekhara will have plenty of opportunities to explore the mysteries that this ancient land has to offer.
The Tomb of the Vulture Lord is an enormous Pyramid centered in the Necropolis of Zandri in the Land of the Dead. Inside players will find a level 40 group instanced action-adventure experience. Throughout the semi-linear ascent to the Pyramid's apex are seven unique Public Quests, several traps, eight action packed boss fights, and various other encounters.
Both realms endeavor to have an active expedition to the Land of the Dead. The means of transport to the hostile desert wasteland are Airships. Airship expeditions are costly affairs which require resources. Only one realm will control the necessary supply lines to support the expedition, and so only one realm's flight masters will allow flight to the Land of the Dead at any one time.

In an effort to bridge the gap between tabletop miniatures games and the realm of online gaming, John Shaffer of Games Workshop, U.S. built a scale model of one of the WAR in-game environments; the lofty and ancient Gates of Ekrund. Using raw materials, like insulation foam, plastic sheeting and foam core, John recreated the imposing structure with help from some in-game screenshots. Two weeks after a meeting with EA Mythic staff, the gates were finished, and it was only right that a heated battle between the Dwarfs and their rivals, the Orcs and Goblins be waged amongst the shadows of Ekrund's walls.
EAMythic's Lead Animator Jeremy Dale and Adam Gershowitz, Associate Art Director, flew out to Vegas for Games Workshop's Grand Tournament. Here's the story of their (mis)adventures - victory, defeat, and interactions with local law enforcement.
